Hey everyone! My name is Neko-daewen
and I don't think I've ever formally introduced myself to this group. I am the co-founder, I started this group with my buddy XFantasyAddictX
oh so many years ago.
I just wanted to let you all know that I am so happy so many people enjoy our group, and continue to submit things
We really appreciate it, even if we are really quiet. And we hope you guys enjoy being a part of our group!
That being said, FA and I have been really busy lately with real life, and we don't always get to the submissions for the group in time. Submissions have an expiration, and once that is up we can't approve it. It's a real pain to have been away for awhile only to come back and find a bunch of expired submissions
I'd like to take on two contributors to the group to help approve submissions, so we don't have too much backing up.
If you are interested in becoming a contributor/moderator, leave a comment with the following information:How long have you been a member of DA?
Have you had any experience with club moderating, and if so what was it?
Favorite Deadpool quote or moment?
Thank you in advance for those who apply, I will notify the two new moderators when I select them
In other news, I am going to let you guys know about the 3 general rules and policies that have gone unspoken up until now. We generally like to everything Deadpool related into our group: we have no skill standards, and we accept all types of art. But some things have come up, so here are the golden rules that FA and I abide by when it comes to accepting work.
There has been the occasional submission of demotivational posters featuring official Marvel artwork and comic scans into our group. I would just like to remind all of our members that these types of submissions are not permitted according to deviantART's Acceptable Upload Policy
, so they are not permitted here. In fact, I actively report any violations of copyright to the DA staff. So keep this in mind. We do not accept screenshots, demotivationals, or scans.FAQ #8: What are violations of the DeviantArt copyright policy?FAQ #306: Does "Crediting" let me use whatever I want?
Please also note that we try not to accept photographs of toys unless there is something original or creative about the photo.
Simply uploading a photo of your collection of Marvel toys with a Deadpool figurine in the mix is not enough to be accepted. We appreciate that you appreciate the Marvel toy line, but generic or blurry photographs of collections are simply not what this group is about. If you have posed the toys in a creative way, or have added a caption or some sort of creative effort on your part, then of course we will accept it. We are an art group, not your photobucket account or bragging grounds.
Finally, there has been some debate about what sort of things we accept when it comes to Deadpool interacting with other characters. FA and I actually have differing opinions on this, but for the most part our policy is Deadpool must be the primary focus of the picture. He must either share the picture equally with the other characters, or be the main focus.
This is mostly due to the fact that we occasionally get submissions where Deadpool is in the background, or really small in the corner of a picture making a comment. We are a Deadpool group, and we are here to celebrate the awesomeness that is Deadpool. Submissions should be about him.
I hope this doesn't seem all doom-and-gloom, but since we never formally made rules for this group and there has been some issues lately, I thought it was appropriate to lay out what it is we generally look for in submissions. That being said, I think our group is long overdue for some folders, don't you think? I'm going to go start getting that set up!
Thank you all for your time!
